Ski Fashion Tips for 2018
As your Denver photographers, there is nothing we love doing more than hitting the slopes. Here in Colorado, ski season is well underway and the slopes are finally starting to see the kind of snow that has people daydreaming of days off, afternoons spent cozied up next to the fire with hot chocolate in your hands at the lodge, and some of the most adrenaline-fueled downhill moments of your life. If your friends’ Snapchats are starting to fill up with slope photos and apres-ski videos every weekend, but your mountainside wardrobe needs a facelift, we’ve got some ski fashion tips to help you look your best.
Fashionable Down
Down jackets are a must ski fashion have in the frigid mountain air, but there’s no reason down has to mean bulky and ugly. There are so many beautifully designed down jackets out there that will keep you warm without having to sacrifice an ounce of fashion along the way.
Stay Hydrated (That Means Your Skin, Too!)
This is a little less about ski fashion you wear and more about staying healthy, happy, and glowing even against that whipping mountain wind. Make sure you keep hydrated and moisturize well before and after you hit the slopes. The altitude dries you out, as does the cold temperatures, and the physical exertion. By the time you head back to the lodge for some R&R, your body is likely in need of some serious hydration, so don’t ignore that need! Drink up, slather on some moisturizer (hopefully you did this before as well, we always like a moisturizer with SPF) and give your body the true replenishment it deserves.
Level up Your Apres Ski
Speaking of that Apres Ski life, there’s no reason your off-slope attire has to be any less fashionable than what you wear to take advantage of a fresh pow day. Athleisure has gained popularity for a lot of reasons, but the intersection of comfort and style is hard to say no to. Swap out those ski boots for a pair of fuzzy-lined, stylish winter boots and pair it with your favorite stylish athleisure outfit and you will be the star of the ski lodge.
Don’t Shy Away From Color
Bold hues are the way to go this season. You’ll stand out in a sea of white on the mountain and you’ll be fashion-forward with those striking colors. Warming up the winter with splashes of reds, oranges, and yellows is a great way to keep those summer vibes rolling even in your own personal winter wonderland.
